1. Preliminary preparation
Wall inspection and treatment:
Before starting to lay PP Chinese Wall Tile (Single/Double), the wall must be carefully inspected to ensure that it is flat, dry, and free of oil and debris. For new walls, wait until they are fully dry before paving; for old walls, remove the original paint, wallpaper or old tiles, etc., to ensure that the wall base is solid and not loose.
Especially when the wall has been waterproofed, because the surface of the waterproof layer is smooth and the friction is small, additional treatment measures (such as wall roughening or tooth-shaped waterproofing) are required to increase the adhesion between the wall and PP Chinese Wall Tile (Single/Double).
Material selection and ratio:
Choose reliable quality PP Chinese Wall Tile and matching tile adhesive or cement mortar. The tiles should have no obvious defects, standard size, and water absorption rate that meets the requirements of the specification.
When mixing cement mortar, it should be mixed strictly according to the recommended ratio to ensure the strength and adhesion of the mortar. For tiles with high water absorption, tile adhesive may be needed to improve the bonding effect.
2. Construction process
Base treatment:
Before paving PP Chinese Wall Tile (Single/Double), it is key to treat the wall surface with base. If the wall surface is too smooth, it should be roughened or coated with an interface agent to increase the roughness of the wall surface and improve the adhesion between the tile and the wall surface.
Ensure that the wall surface has no defects such as hollows and cracks, and repair them if necessary.
Pre-arrangement and positioning:
Before formal paving, PP Chinese Wall Tile (Single/Double) should be pre-arranged and positioned to ensure that the tiles are arranged neatly and the gaps are uniform. For tiles of special shapes or sizes, their positions should be planned in advance.
Paving tips:
Use appropriate tools (such as toothed scrapers) to evenly apply tile adhesive or cement mortar on the back of the tile and the wall surface to form a uniform bonding layer.
When laying tiles, proceed from bottom to top and from left to right, and gently tap the tiles with a rubber hammer to make them fit tightly against the wall and expel bubbles and excess adhesive material.
Pay attention to controlling the gap width between PP Chinese Wall Tile (Single/Double). It is generally recommended to use a special cross card or gap locator to control it.
3. Post-maintenance
Cleaning and protection:
After laying, the dust and stains on the surface of PP Chinese Wall Tile (Single/Double) should be cleaned in time, and acidic or strong alkaline cleaners should be avoided to avoid damaging the surface of the tiles.
Before the tiles are fully cured, they should be avoided from being stepped on or placed with heavy objects to avoid displacement or damage to the tiles.
Inspection and repair:
Within 24 hours after laying, a comprehensive inspection should be carried out to promptly detect and deal with problems such as hollowing and falling off. For hollow tiles, they should be pried up and re-laid; for fallen tiles, they should be cleaned and re-applied with adhesive material and laid.
Filling and beautifying the seams: After the PP Chinese Wall Tile (Single/Double) is laid, the seams should be filled in time. Choose the appropriate caulking agent color to match the tile, use the caulking gun to evenly fill the caulking agent into the tile gaps, and clean up the excess caulking agent in time. Beautifying the seams can further enhance the decoration effect and make the tile gaps more beautiful and durable.
